Description: The Psychology Interjurisdictional Compact (PSYPACT) is an interstate compact designed to facilitate the practice of telepsychology and the temporary in-person face-to-face practice of psychology across state boundaries. This presentation will inform the participant on the practice of telepsychology through PSYPACT, What a compact is, how PSYPACT came to be and what PSYPACT means for Colorado psychologists. Once completed, the psychologist will have a better understanding the ethical and practice related issues of telepsychology , of interstate compacts, what PSYPACT is and how PSYPACT might be beneficial.

Learning Objectives:
  • Identify ethical and practice related areas involved with providing psychological services across jurisdictional borders.
  • Describe what an interstate compact is and identify examples
  • Describe what PSYPACT is and what it allows psychologists to do
  • Describe the status of PSYPACT with respect to participating states and upcoming dates of implementation
