Julie Jacobs is a licensed psychologist and attorney who practices in the area of mental health provider law. Julie received her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology and her J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School. Prior to attending law school, Julie practiced for 12 years as a clinical psychologist in a variety of settings, including private practice and as a Captain in the United States Air Force. Julie has established a small practice in Colorado focused on optimizing the work of mental health providers through consultations on legal, ethical, and risk management issues.
She also works as a Risk Management Consultant for The Trust, providing ethics and risk management consultations to psychologists insured through The Trust Sponsored Professional Liability Insurance Program as well as presenting workshops and other educational content related to psychology on behalf of The Trust. In addition, Julie serves as the Chair of the Legislative Committee for the Colorado Psychological Association, focusing on legislative advocacy related to mental health providers.
